It is with broken hearts and many tears that the family of Wayne Hamlyn announce his passing at Notre Dame Bay Memorial Health Center at the age of 69.

He is predeceased by his parents Frank and Elsie Hamlyn, parents in law James and Rowena Horwood, sister Ruth, brother-in-law Allan and his niece MollyAnn.

Left with fond and loving memories are his wife Marie, daughters Jennifer (Corey), and Jordana (Taylor), granddaughter Alicia, his sisters Paula (Winston), Linda (Wally), sisters in law Cindy (Rick), Cathy and brother-in-law Robert (Jen) as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including his furry friends Jax and Fisher.

Wayne worked at many things including fishing and his last job was with Isles Funeral Home. After his heart attack at age 40 Wayne had to retire. He kept busy and enjoyed his boats rides and starting his greenhouse where he grew hundreds of flowers, always sharing with family. He spent many days visiting his mom and dad and if he one day he didn’t show up his mom would call to see if anything was wrong. His music was his passion and if you could hum a tune he would play it. Starting at an early age and learning on his own he played music and sang to entertain many family and friends. He also loved mummering and filled many kitchens with music and laughter. It was hard for him to disguise himself, as he was always the one with the accordion!

Donations in Wayne’s memory may be given to the Central United Church North Side Cemetery, Twillingate.
