Wade May Obituary

It is with overwhelming sadness that the family of Eric Wade May announce his passing on June 28, 2025, at home in Twillingate after bravely fighting an unkind, unfair and cruel battle with ALS. He was only 78.

Wade is predeceased by his parents Cecil and Blanch May, and by his brother Jack.

Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife Kathleen May, his children Elizabeth (Carmine) and Stephen and his grandchildren Thomas, Eric, Veronica, Alice and Brian. He was a dear brother-in-law to Loretta May and uncle to Suzanne (Phil) Norman and Philip May and great-uncle to Sarah Carter.

Wade was a loving and supportive husband to Kathleen for over 58 years. In his heyday, Wade was an avid golfer, reader, berry picker and lemon meringue pie maker. A longtime resident in Brampton, Ontario where he coached his son Stephen’s baseball team and threw unlimited pop flies and ground balls to his daughter Elizabeth. He was their biggest fan and perpetual cheerleader. Wade was a trivia buff and an endless source of information, never at a loss for words when there was a story to share. In 2015 he returned to his hometown of Twillingate wanting to enjoy the picturesque scenery, hiking trails and berry fields. His golden years of retirement were cut too short by ALS.

He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered in the hearts of his family who take comfort in knowing that his suffering has come to an end.

In keeping with Wade’s wishes cremation has taken place.
