It is with deep sadness that the family of Geraldine Rebecca Roberts announce her passing on July 20, 2025, at the Notre Dame Bay Memorial Health Centre in Twillingate, at the age of 86.
Geraldine was born on September 24, 1938, to Dulcie (Vineham) and William Stockley of Twillingate. She began working at the Bank of Nova Scotia after graduating from high school and worked there for about 20 years, before working at the fish plant for many years. She was also a long serving member of the Royal Canadian Legion’s Ladies Auxiliary. Geraldine enjoyed knitting, quilting, walking, and spending time with friends and family, especially her grandchildren.
Geraldine is predeceased by her husband Hubert Roberts, parents Dulcie and William Stockley, in-laws Bessie and Harvey Roberts, sister-in-law Jean (Cator) Brown, and her good friend Hilda Cooper.
She leaves to mourn with warm and loving memories her daughter Karen, sons Kevin (Angela), Keith (Patty) and Kenneth (Pamela), her five grandchildren Brittany (Kyle) Hennebury, Stephanie Roberts, Kameron Roberts, Kaden Roberts and Kennedi Roberts, step grandchildren Stephen Sharpe and Allison Sharpe, her sister Lorraine and brother-in-law Albert Roberts. Also, brother-in-law Laurie, sisters-in-law Louise (Herbert) Barnes, Betty (Clarence) Watkins and Donna (Bruce) Clarke, nieces and nephews, and longtime good friends Kay Boyd, Olive Gillard and Joan Lambert.
The family extends a special thank you to Geraldine’s home care workers over the years, especially Susanne Baggs and Tammy Dove, and the staff at Sunset Manor and the Longterm Care Unit, Notre Dame Bay Memorial Health Centre for their kindness and taking such good care of her.
Donations in Geraldine’s memory can be made to the Hospital Pond Fund or the United Church Cemetery Fund (North Side).
