Angela Ettie Bernice Smith Obituary

Angela Ettie Bernice Smith was born on February 12, 1972, to Masie and Howard Smith. The second child of three. Dianne and Tina, her two sisters shared many fond memories. Her most famous quote to Dianne was “Hey D and Tina, can’t talk now gotta pee!” Angela had a short battle with cancer and passed peacefully away at her home on March 28, 2025. Angela is now their Guardian Angel!

Angela is predeceased by her father Howard Smith and brother Glen Welsh, stepfather Bernard Woodford and father-in-law Peter Scott. Grandparents Walter and Ettie Smith and Abel and Bernice Tarrant, poppy Roy, cousins Cindy, Eric, John, Cory, and Jodey.

Left to mourn is Mom Masie, husband Mark, son Jarret (Makenzie), and mother-in-law Linda. Sisters Dianne (Tony), and Tina (Eugene), stepsisters Donna and “Darlene Woodford, stepbrother Kevin (Jackie) Woodford, niece Dallas and family, and nephew Jonathan as well as a large circle of other family and friends.

Her mom, Masie was her idol, she simply loved her mom. At a young age, Angela went to Sioux Lookout, Ontario where she met her husband Mark Scott, and together they had a son, Jarret, who was her whole life. October of this year, they would have celebrated their 25th Wedding Anniversary.

Angela never forgot her Newfoundland roots, and Purcells Harbour had her heart. She dearly loved that little community, from swimming in the brook, playing baseball up Dave Warrs, to cutting out cod tongues, nothing else compared to Angela like the memories of it all there! Home certainly was where her heart was. In Hudson, (just outside Sioux Lookout,) they have a thriving small family business which she was so proud of, Hudson Auto Care.

Angela certainly had a zest for life. She was the life of any gathering and could be heard for miles around. Anyone who knew Angela, knew she loved to sing Karaoke. Rest easy Angela and sing “Coat of Many Colours” at the top of your lungs.

Angela was loved by all and she will be sadly missed.

In keeping with Angela's wishes cremation has taken place and a private graveside interment has been planned for August 2025.
