Passed away suddenly but peacefully at home, Catherine ("Rene") Patterson (Brenton) Hynes, age 78.

Predeceased by parents, Richard Brenton and Helen (Moran), husband Hardy Gilbert, baby brother Archie, brothers in-law; Don Paul, Ron Green, Allen Burden and Bert Hynes.

Leaving to mourn with precious memories;

Sons; Stewart (Endu), Jeff (Isabelle), Brad (Linda), Travis (Lindsay) and Lee (Laurie), stepson; Brent (Lisa, Chelsea and Colby)

Grandchildren; Catie, Olivia, Emma, Gavin, Caleb, Evan, Lily, Saviah, and Kashvyn.

Brothers and sisters; Helen(Lester), Lewis (Eileen), Gerald (Sandra), Joan, May (Tom) and Marion.

Brothers and sisters in-law, Shirley, Harold (Dianne), Christine, Brian (Laura-ann), Dennis (Wanda), Bonnie (Brian), Ruth (Guy), Edwin (Steph), Woodrow (Josephine), Cleo, and Corina (Jerry).

Plus a large circle of nieces, nephews, family and friends, including neighbours Cass and Oliver Hynes who did a lot for her over the years.

Rene was absolutely devoted to her sons and grandchildren. She never forgot a birthday and made sure everyone had their share at Christmas. She raised five boys on her own, setting the foundation for their success after the passing of Hardy, the love of her life, at a very young age. She "never stopped" and liked to keep busy by keeping things clean and tidy. She could always be seen with a broom or swiffer in-hand, or found standing at the sink washing dishes. She even made sure her daughters-in-law always had a helping hand while visiting. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and she loved them "to the moon and back." Rene had a strong faith, and lived it in practice and spirit.
