It is with a heartfelt sadness that the family of Hardy Elijah Jenkins announce his passing on December 29, 2025, at the Notre Dame Bay Memorial Health Center, Twillingate, NL at the age of 75.

Hardy is predeceased by his parents Mark and Florence Jenkins, his sisters Marjorie Barnes, Marie Pond, and baby sister Sylvia Marie, his brother Clarence Jenkins and his infant baby brother.

Left with fond and loving memories are his sisters Louise Pond, and Shirley White, his brothers Melvin (Marilyn Rogers) Jenkins, Wilfred (Joan) Jenkins, Lindy (Eileen) Jenkins, and Nelson (Maureen) Jenkins, his brother-in-law Bruce Barnes as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Hardy was an extremely polite, generous and loving man who was devoted to his family and friends. He was a pillar of support for his mom for years before her passing. He was born in Blow-Me-Down and dearly loved his birthplace. Hardy lived a life of faith and read the Bible daily. His belief in God sustained him through many health challenges in his final years.

He loved sports, especially hockey, baseball and curling. His favorite teams were, New York Islanders, Toronto Blue Jays and Team Gushue. His passing will leave an empty space in the hearts and lives of those who loved him.

A very special thank you to Hardy’s home care workers Velda Hynes and Mabel Heath, and the nursing staff, Dr. Best and to Dr. Stuckless of the Notre Dame Bay Memorial Health Center- Medical Care Unit, Twillingate who took such wonderful care of Hardy; it was very much appreciated by his family.

A special thank you to his nephew and friend Ricky Jenkins whom Hardy spent countless hours with. His friendship was a gift that was treasured more than words can express. Thank you for always being there for him.
