Audrey Rowena Baker (Preston), a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on December 31st, 2025 at the age of 79. She was a pillar of love, strength, and kindness to all who knew her.

The eldest daughter born to Althea and Cyril Preston, Audrey showed her caring nature early in life, helping to raise her siblings when her mother became ill. Her sense of responsibility, compassion, and devotion to family shaped her life and guided her through every challenge.

Despite limited means, she raised three sons-Tony, Shawn, and Christopher-on her own. She always put her children first, providing for them, supporting them, and instilling in them

the values of love, kindness, resilience, and perseverance. Her sacrifices and dedication laid the foundation for the success and happiness of her family.

She was a loving grandmother who adored her grandchildren-Madison, Colby, Carter, Cade, Lucas, Preston and her great grandson-Elliott. She shared a special bond with each of them and enjoyed every moment she got to spend with them.

Audrey's life was a testament to love, perseverance, and family. Her warmth, joy, and nurturing spirit left a lasting impression on everyone she met, and her laughter and kindness were contagious. She will be remembered with affection and gratitude by all whose lives she touched. Her memory lives on through her children, grandchildren, and the countless friends and family who were blessed to know her.

Audrey was predeceased by her parents Cyril and Althea Preston and her brother Allister.

Audrey is survived by her sons: Tony (Susanne), Shawn (Jenny), Christopher (Stephanie), her grandchildren Madison, Colby, Carter, Cade, Lucas, and Preston, and her great grandchild Elliott. She also leaves behind her siblings: Elizabeth, Marilyn (Randy), and Brian. As well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A special thank you to the nursing staff and doctors of the Notre Dame Bay Memorial Health Center-Long Term Care Unit, Twillingate who took such wonderful care of Mom; it will not be forgotten.

In keeping with Audrey’s wishes cremation has taken place and a memorial service to celebrate her life will be held later in the spring with her family and close friends.
