It is with deep sadness that the family of Oswald Levi Dove announce his passing on February 9, 2026, at the Notre Dame Bay Memorial Health Center, Twillingate, NL, at the age of 86.

Oswald was predeceased by his parents, Cyril and Lucy Dove; partner Cecilia Hollett, sister-in-law Ella Dove, and brother-in-law Ernest Baggs.

He leaves to mourn his loving children Dennis (Anna), Dean, Denise (Randy), Danielle (Matthew), and step-daughter Elaine (Keith), his grandchildren Dylan, Brandon, Joshua, Kendra, Fallon, James, David, Simon, Isaac, Eden, and his only great grandchild Abel, his siblings Minnie, Rowena (Raymond), Alman (Judy), and Goldie (Doug), as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Oswald enjoyed a long career in construction. He worked all over the Province from St. John’s to Corner Brook and many places in between. He was Superintendent on the construction of the Mamateek Hotel in Corner Brook, Whitborne Overpass , several Dominion Stores, and many other sites - too many to mention. After his retirement, he settled in Crow Head and enjoyed over 20 years with his partner, Cecilia. Oswald loved to do woodworking in his basement where he made things for family and friends. In later years, he loved to go for his drives. Anyone who knew him, knows this very well. He also loved his Big Mary every ‘Big Mary Monday’.

A heartfelt thank you to the staff of Notre Dame Bay Memorial Health Centre, for taking care of Dad while he was a patient there, your kindness will not be forgotten.

Donations in Oswald's memory may be given to the Northside United Church Cemetery Fund.
