It is with much sadness that the family of Richard Perry announce his passing on February 27, 2026, at the Notre Dame Bay Memorial Health Center, Twillingate, NL at the age of 46.
Richard was predeceased by his parents David and Bernice Perry.
He leaves to mourn his siblings Wilbert, Clifford, and Delilah (Edmund), as well as a large circle of Aunts and Uncles, other relatives and friends.
Richard was a fisherman all his life and dearly loved it on the water and was a “Jack of all Trades.” When something needed to be fixed and he could do it himself, he was his own mechanic. He loved to hunt, fish and cut wood. He loved to cook, and summertime he would plant his own vegetables. He and his brother (Cliff) were the “Perry Boys” and when you seen one, you seen the other brother. He loved it over on the island, at their cabin on Samsons Island, it was his “Happy Place.”
In keeping with Richard’s wishes cremation has taken place.
"God grant that I may live to fish until my dying day,
And when my final cast is made
And life has slipped away,
I pray that God's great landing net
Will catch me in its sweep
And in His mercy, God will judge me
Big enough to keep."
