It is with much sadness that the family of Garfield “Francis” Weir announce his passing on May 25, 2026, at the Notre Dame Bay Memorial Health Center, Twillingate, NL at the age of 73.

Francis was predeceased by his parents William and Mabel Weir, his brothers Hardy and Jack and his baby sister.

He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his daughter Katelin, his brother Dave (Ann), his nephew Billy and his son Jackson, his nieces Kim (Danny), Jackie (Sergio) and their children Nathaniel and Ema, Tina and Angela, his sister in law Phyllis, and his beloved cat Kenny as well as other relatives and friends.

But not with sorrow, pain and grief

Think of me as a turning leaf

That in the winter falls from its branch

To be born again in spring

And live forever in your heart.”
