Obituary of L. Florence Jenkins-Clarke

Passed peacefully away, Friday, November 27th, L. Florence Jenkins-Clarke, at the age of 102 years. She was predeceased by: parents Patrick and Beatrice Atkins; husband Mark Jenkins; second husband Herbert Clarke;daughter Syllvia Marie Jenkins; infant son; brother Frederick Atkins; stepbrother Frederick Simmons; grandchildren: Gary Pond, George Pond, Ricky Pond, and Sandra Pelley; sons-in-law: Arthur Pond, John Pond, Douglas Pelley, and Harvey White. Florence leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories: children: Marjorie (Bruce) Barnes, Louise Pond, Clarence (Margaret) Jenkins, Shirley White, Marie Pond, Melvin (Marilyn) Jenkins, Wilfred (Joan) Jenkins, Hardy Jenkins, Lindy (Eileen) Jenkins, and Nelson (Maureen) Jenkins; sister Ida Lewis; grandchildren: Thelma, Goldie, Ivan, Danny (Ruth), Dolly-ann, Juanita (Everett), Sandra (Lorne), Pierce (Kerry-lynn), Hayward (Denise), Goldie (Steve), Angela (Dwayne), Ricky, Terry (Xanda), Terry (Susan), Debbie (Corey), Jamie, John (Trudy), David, Roxanne (Bram), Wanda (Bob), Perry (Kim), Arthur, Cris (Jen), Craig (Lisa), Mark (Darlene), Marc, Alison, and Dylan; 26 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren; home support workers: Pansy Stuckless, Judy Rogers, Kim Bennett, Patty Dwyer, and Trudy Pond; the staff of the Long Term and Acute care units at the Notre Dame Bay Memorial Health Centre; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will take place on Saturday from 7-9 PM and on Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 PM from Isles Funeral Home, Twillingate. The funeral service will be held on Monday at 11 AM from the Central United Church, Twillingate, Rev. George Stockley officiating. Interment will follow at the United cemetery, Durrell. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Central United Church, Bayview Salvation Army, or to the Food Bank.
