My thoughts and wishes are with you and your family at this time of sorrow. I always enjoyed visiting Mrs. Gillard going there I would hope to brighten her day and uplift her spirits just a little. leaving I always felt a little guilty because she seemed to do more for me then I for her. She always found a way to brighten my day and give me a positive outlook on life no matter the situation. Even in her passing I hope all the family find the comfort, inspiration and joy she gave me and I'm sure so many others. I will forever cherish the impact she has made in my life.

To Helen and The Gillard Family. Just heard that Irene has passed away. We just want you to know we are thinking of you and praying for you in these days. She was a great lady, it was always a pleasure to visit with her and your Dad. We had many conversations, laughs and often prayed together when we visited during our stay in Bayview. Our hearts go out to everyone that knew and loved Irene. How could you not love such a wonderful, caring person ? What can we say about this amazing woman....so much!!! The best blackberry/crowberry pudding that was ever made and the the drive from Ontario to Gillards Cove was so worth it to get some ! The socks, hats, afghans, quilts, christmas ornaments, just to name a few of the amazing creations she was capable of and which gave so much enjoyment in the making and the giving to her!!! Never at a loss for words, she would entertain us with the stories of mummering and customs long forgotten. Her humour and laughter could brighten even the darkest day. Our Memories of picking up chinese food, her favourite and visiting her will last a lifetime!!!! We know she dancing with the angels, arm in arm with the ones she loves as we loved her. She will be missed but never, ever forgotten.

We were so saddened to hear of Aunt Irene's passing. Our condolences to Randy and the Gillard family. I have great memories of visiting Aunt Irene over the years. Aunt Irene loved quilting, crocheting and knitting as much as myself and my mom, her sister Susie Stuckless did. Mom would say how happy she was to have retired and moved back home. Having her sister near to share patterns and ideas with was special for them. One summer while I was visiting Aunt Irene she had me go upstairs and bring down the quilts she made over the winter so I could see them. Not just one trip up those steep stairs did I make, but 5 trips as I could only carry a couple at a time. But it was worth it just to see the joy and her smile as she told me about making each one. Aunt Irene you will be missed, til we meet again. Christine Morton, sons Trevor and Travis Morton

My deepest condolences on the passing of your Mother/Grandmother/Great Grandmother. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time. The last time I saw her was a few years ago just before Mom passed. She wanted to visit with Irene for a while, we all had a fine chat - she will be missed.

Sorry to hear of the passing of Irene. We had the pleasure of meeting her and spending a weekend at her home. She was one of the sweetest ladies that we ever met and treated you like you were one of her own. God love her.
