Obituary of Shirley G. M. Barnes

Passed away on July 12, 2016, Shirley G. M. Barnes, aged 80 of Twillingate, NL. She was predeceased by: her parents Carl and Ada Thorne; husband Thomas; children Stacey (Mamie) and Wallace; brothers: Graham, Gerald, Richard and Matthew; sister Ruby Lambert. Shirley leaves with fond and loving memories: children: Judy (Jay) Smith, Frances Edwards, Carl, Richard, Terry (Dianne), Ronnie (Lori); grandchildren: John, Joshua, Gary, Matthew, Justin, Ryan, Amanda, Zachery, Joshua, Sabastian, Jennifer and Emily; 11 great grandchildren; brother Joseph (Bonnie) Thorne; Sisters-in-law: Prudence Thorne, Joan Thorne and Linda Thorne; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives , friends and of course Shirley’s four legged furry friend, Shadow. The family would like to thank the home support workers for their compassion and support shown to Shirley in her life journey. Visitation will be held on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9pm from the Salvation Army Citadel, Bayview. Funeral service to take place on Friday, July 15 at 2pm from the Citadel, Captain Tina Dominaux officiating. As expressions of sympathy, no flowers by request, donations may be made in Shirley’s name to the Salvation Army Sunday School Program, Bayview.
