Obituary of H. Frederick Dove

Fred was born September 23, 1935 to Olive and Ralph Dove. He was the oldest of 9 children. He Married the love of his life, Marlene Guthro, on September 29, 1956. Together they had three children; Deb, Tim, and Laura. Fred began his work career at the printing shop here in Twillingate before moving to Ontario. He retired as an optician after 50 years and was the owner of Kawartha Optical. Fred and Marlene returned back to Twillingate in 1995. Fred was predeceased by his parents Olive and Ralph; brothers: Allan, Eric and Harvey and sister Patsy. He leaves with many loving memories: his wife for over 60 years, Marlene; children: Deb (Rob), Tim (Karen) and Laura (Fred), grandchildren: Joshua (Renee), Samantha (Matthew), Kirsty and Jesse; great grandchildren: Blair and Kaya; siblings: Carrie (Edward), Shirley, Phyllis (Eric) and Junior (Janice); sister-in-laws Betty and Audrey; and a large circle of other family and friends. Cremation has taken. At Fred’s request, there will be no visitation or memorial service. In honor of Fred’s memory, donations may be given to the Twillingate/New World Island Minor Hockey Association.
