Obituary of Olive M. Young

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Olive Young, age 90, of Twillingate, NL. Olive passed peacefully on January 20, 2017 at the Notre Dame Bay Memorial Health Center, Twillingate, NL. Olive was predeceased by: her parents Stanley and Asenath Starkes; husband Wallace; sister Minnie (Vernon) Frances; brothers: Arthur, Leonard (Leanne) and Moody (Olive). She leaves with fond and loving memories: sister-in-law Blanche Starkes; nieces: Ruby (Lloyd) Williams, Karen (Bill) Stoddart, Joyce Ashbourne, Thelma (Doug) Fleury Vera (Bill Fry) Young, Gloria Wells and Joan (Murray) Mills; nephews Charles (Gloria) Starkes and Phil Hawkins; great nieces and nephews: Nicholas, Catherine (Fred), Thelma (Mike), Harry John (Elaine), David (Sharon), Beverly (Darl) and Jerry (Gwynn); good friends: Dorothy Young, Paul Young, Hazel Young, Cecil and Eleanor Stockley, Carl and Eula Dally, Gerald and Eileen Loveridge, Audrey White, Jim Troke, Ruth Pelley and Maxine Bourden; as well as many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Olive was a faithful member of the United Church Women’s group at the Central United Church in Twillingate, as well as a volunteer with the Canadian Red Cross and the Notre Dame Bay Memorial Health Center Auxiliary. Visitation will be held on Wednesday 2-4pm and 7-9pm from the Isles Funeral Home, Twillingate. Funeral service to take place on Thursday, January 26 at 2pm from the Central United Church, Twillingate. Rev. George Stockley officiating.
