Obituary of Karl H. Danitz

Passed away on February 19, 2018 at the Notre Dame Bay Memorial Health Centre, Twillingate, NL , Mr. Karl Danitz of Herring Neck, Aged 100. He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Charolette; their only child, John. Born in Bremerhaven, Germany in 1917, Karl immigrated to Canada in 1952. He settled in Lion's Head, Ontario where he owned and operated an Electronics Store until his retirement in 1973. With a need to return to the salt water, he and his wife, who was a reporter with Reuters, intended to move to Nova Scotia. Chance led them instead to Herring Neck, Newfoundland where they lived out the rest of their days. In June 2017, Karl was honoured as a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge. He celebrated his 100th birthday on September 3rd, 2017. Cremation has taken place. In keeping with Karl's wishes, there was no Memorial Service.
