Obituary of Elizabeth Ranson

It is with much sadness that we share the news of the recent passing of , Elizabeth Colbourne Ranson on July 14, 2018. Betty arrived in Twillingate from her home in North Carolina about three weeks ago to spend her summer in her grandfather’s house in Durrell which she had recently purchased. It was very much a homecoming for her, surrounded by family and friends, and a lifetime of memories. On July 13th, Betty fell into a peaceful sleep in her grandparents’ house, surrounded by lovely thoughts, and did not awaken on the morning of July 14, . Her husband Jim predeceased her last year. Betty was also predeceased by her parents Claude and Lily, and by her step-mother Daisy, sister-in-law Betty and brother-in-law Art. Betty will be sadly missed by her three daughters, Teresa, Catherine, and Patricia, step-daughter PattyAnn, brothers Lloyd and Bill, and sister Louise and their families, along with a host of family and friends. In keeping with Betty’s wishes cremation has taken place. An interment service will take place at the United Church Cemetery, Durrell on Wednesday July 25th, 11 am.
