Obituary of Jim Hamlyn

Jim was born December 26, 1949 to Rita (Hillier) and Edwin Hamlyn of Crow Head. He began his lifelong passion shortly thereafter, working. Family aside, there was nothing that made him prouder than a job well done. After graduating high school, he studied to become a certified electrician. His knowledge of electrical systems was not his only area of expertise however, he could be relied on to invent, build or fix just about anything he put his mind to. On May 28, 1971, he married his high school sweetheart, Barbara Stuckless. Together they raised two sons and a daughter, Jeff, Joe and Joanne. Jim was predeceased by his mother, Rita, brother in Law, Paul, father in law Gord and most recently his mother in law Lorna. He leaves with fond memories * his devoted wife of 47 years, Barb * their children Jeff (Stacy), Joe (Tara) & Joanne (Hermann) * their adored grandchildren, Tim, Sarah, Amelia, Clare, Molly & Oliver * his sisters, Geraldine (Roy), Loretta (Kevin), Rosemarie (Gordon) & Jacqueline (Lloyd) * his brothers, Barry (Melita) & Victor (Beverly) * his sisters in law, Irene (Keith), Annette (William), Diane * his 96 year old father Edwin & his precious wife, Eleanor * numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins & friends A memorial service will be held from the Central United Church, Twillingate on Wednesday March 6, 2019 at 2pm, Victor and Beverly Hamlyn officiating.
