So very saddened to hear of Nans passing. While physical distance separated us, I always carried her in my heart. During this time of sadness, Ive spent time reflecting on the many happy childhood memories of our summer vacation trips to visit her. Out of all of our stops along the way, Nans home was my favourite place to visit. She always welcomed me like as if she saw me everyday. She made me feel special and I will always remember her humour. I will never forget that her roast beef was the tastiest I ever ate! She let me walk her dog cuddles when no one else thought I was old enough to do it safely. Shed say leave her alone, shes alright and off Id go with the dog on the leash, a very happy little girl! She always tormented me that I talked too much, so its not surprising to her that even this condolence message is getting lengthy. I remember the comfort and coziness and meticulous cleanliness of her home and standing on the big rock in back of her house looking out on the water, feeling so happy to be there. My brightest moment with her was when I first brought our son to meet her. Her face lit up just at the sight of him. She got teary eyed at the end of that visit and that was the first time I had ever seen that side of Nan. Today, we are the ones teary eyed at the thought of losing her. I will cherish my fond memories of her easy going, beautiful spirit and reflect on how blessed we were to call her Nan. I am also trying to find peace that she has now reunited with Pop and others who she loves. Debbie, thank you for your solid commitment to Nans care over these last few years.
