Obituary of Lucy R. Morgan

Lucy Rebecca Morgan (nee Woodford), 83, of Gander (formerly of Herring Neck) passed away peacefully on March 27, 2019 following a short stay at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home, St. John’s. Left with many memories are: her children, Cathy (Peter) and David (Angela); her grandchildren, Katie and Jessie; her sisters-in-law, Edna (spouse of her late brother-in-law Fred) and Hilda (spouse of her late brother Baxter); her beloved nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends. Lucy is predeceased by: her husband, Arthur; her parents, Lewis and Ida (nee Oake); her parents-in-law Isaac and Lucy (nee Downton); her siblings, Stanley (Hazel), Maisie (Wilson), Cyril, and Baxter; and Arthur’s siblings, Ray (Jean), Vera (Eric), and Fred. The family would like to thank the staff of Nightingale Manor (Gander), James Paton Memorial Hospital (Gander), and St. Patrick’s Mercy Home (St. John’s) for their kindness and compassion shown to Lucy in her later years, recent illness, and final days. In particular, the family would like to thank Dr. Abdulmajeed of James Paton Memorial Hospital for his patience and counsel. Cremation has taken place, A memorial service will take place on Monday May 6, 2019 at 11am from the New World Island East Central United Church, Newville.
