Obituary of Junior Young

Passed peacefully away at the James Paton Memorial Health Centre on December 15, 2019, Wilson "Junior" Young, of Twillingate, at the age of 80 years. Junior was born in Twillingate in 1939 to Arthur and Daisy Young. In May of 1962, he married Joan Chipman of Crow Head and together they raised a family of five children. He was predeceased by: parents Arthur & Daisy Young; stepmother Sarah Young; brothers: Calvin (Minnie), Lloyd (Violet), and Warrick; sister Ruby (Donald) Linfield; brother-in-law Edwin Pelley; and sister-in-law Lyn Chipman. Junior leaves to mourn with many fond and loving memories: wife Joan; sons: Larry (Kim), Howard (Diane), and Keith (Christine); daughters: Colleen (Barry) Hawkins and Krista (Darren) Buckingham; grandchildren: Sarah (Tyler), Nicole, Chantal, Megan, Gregory, Cameron, Nicholas, Courtney, Natalie, and Tyler; great grandchildren: Camden and Callie; step-grandchildren: Heidi, Joel, Cody, Noah, and Matthew; brother John (Joyce); step-brother Alex Dyke; sister-in-law Doreen Young; and 4 furry friends whom he loved dearly; as well as a loving family of nieces, nephews, in-laws, extended relatives and a large circle of friends and neighbours. Visitation will take place on Tuesday 7-9PM from Isles Funeral Home, Twillingate. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 18th at 1:00 PM from the Salvation Army Citadel, Twillingate. Interment will follow at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Ragged Point. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations in Junior’s memory may be made to the Twillingate Salvation Army- Music Department.- PO Box 38, Twillingate NL A0G 4M0.
