Obituary of Shirley J. Mitchell

Shirley, (nee Fudge) passed away at the Notre Dame Bay Memorial Health Center, Twillingate on Friday July 2, 2021 at the age of 76 years old. Shirley is predeceased by: husbands Gilbert Mitchell and Wayne Pope; parents Norman and Ivy Fudge; brothers: Ewen Fudge, Sandy (Catherine) Fudge and Maxwell (Evelina) Fudge; brother-in-law Frank Card. Left with many loving memories: children: Sheila Dietrich and Paul (Cindy) Mitchell; Wayne’s children: Stephen (Sarah) Pope and Bob Pope; grandchildren Winter, Jessie and Mitchell; siblings: Merlie Card, Raymond (Betty) Fudge, Gerald (Beatrice) Fudge, Lloyd (Georgina) Fudge, Lewis Margaret) Fudge and Ella (Keith Hurley) Rideout; sister in law Velma Fudge; the extended Mitchell and Pope families whom Shirley loved unconditionally and treasured spending time with; as well as many extended relatives and close friends. In light of the current Covid-19 pandemic, the health and safety of our families and our community continues to be our highest priority. Keeping with her wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of life service by invitation only will take place at the Central United Church, Twillingate on Friday at 2pm. with Rev. George Stockley officiating.
