I will ever remember Max with fond affection. As a very young, naive teacher entering the profession, Max was always kind, supportive, and understanding of my inexperience. His sense of fun brightened many a day. Years later when my own father was ill, Max was a frequent visitor to reminisce with Dad about Herring Neck. My deepest sympathy to Audrey and family on their loss.

We lost a brother, but heaven found an angel. He not only lit up a room whenever he enter, but Max lit up our lives. The number one question people always ask us is, "Why would you want to move to Newfoundland?" And, our answer never wavered, "Because of the people!" And, Max epitomized the nature, love, and goodness of the Newfoundland people. Fifteen years ago Max built a wooden motor boat for us that still plies the waters of Herring Neck and the love and care he put into its construction is just an extension of him. All of us who were rewarded with having Max in our lives are profoundly blessed. We cherish the day when we can once again be reunited together in heaven.

Audrey & Family it is with so much care that these words are written, hoping to find a way to gently touch your heavy hearts. Our whole family will always cherish the memories of Max during our visits to Herring Neck over the years. We cannot control the movement of time, nor can we control our own destiny or the destinies of those we love. But we can take comfort in knowing that those who have lived in our hearts, are never really gone. For as long as we keep them with us, in our hearts & our thoughts, they will be with us always. For love, which is timeless, never ceases to exist. Sharing your loss & sending you our deepest sympathy. God Bless. Jim & Laurel Laughton & Family
