Obituary of Margaret C. Diamond

Margaret C. Diamond of Twillingate, passed peacefully away at the Notre Dame Bay Memorial Health Centre on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at the age of 92, surrounded by her loving family. Margaret was born on June 3, 1929 to Gordon and Florence Diamond. She was born and raised on Change Islands. On January 12, 1949 she married Moody Diamond and they enjoyed forty years together lovingly raising seven children. In 1960 they moved the family to Twillingate, where they built their family home. Margaret’s life was her family, she was a gentle, loving, and devoted, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother with a trusting faith in God. She lived her life with quiet grace and was happiest spending time at home where she was most content. She loved cooking and baking and thoroughly enjoyed visits from family and friends. She left a warm and lasting impression on all those fortunate enough to have known her. Margaret was predeceased by: parents Gordon and Florence Diamond; husband Moody Diamond; brother Lester Diamond; and brother-in-law Walter Young. Margaret leaves with treasured memories her children: Ross (Violet) Diamond, Lorne (Phyllis) Diamond, Judy (Jim) Keats, Karen (Jerome) Northcott, Ruth (Junior) Rogers, Debby (Chris) Rideout and Tony (Terrilynn) Diamond; grandchildren: Krista-Lee (Travis), Gregory, Lacey (Jamie), Joshua (Chastity), Jordon (Meaghan), Kayla (Andrew), Jeffrey (Shayna), Chad (Jenny), Ian (Jordon), Justin (Rebecca), Nick (Melissa) and Zachary; great-grandchildren: Brooklyn, Aidan, Fox, Stella, Flora, Abel, Sydney and Brooke; sister Maisie; as well as a circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In light of the current Covid-19 pandemic, the health and safety of our families and our community continues to be our highest priority. At this time, due to government regulations proof of vaccination will be required. A public visitation will take place from the Isles Funeral Home, Twillingate on Friday evening from 7-9pm. A funeral service by invitation only, will take place from the Central United Church on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at 2pm; with Rev. Calvin Ginn officiating. Donations in Margaret’s memory may be given to the Hospital Pond Community Garden or the United Church Cemetery Fund, Durrell.
