Obituary of Jesse Wilson Oram
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jesse Wilson Oram on February 15, 2022 at Twillingate Memorial Hospital at the age of 84. He was born in Gambo in 1938 and had several stops along the way in Goose Bay and Gander before settling in Twillingate in 1967. Jesse and Eva raised their family in Twillingate and enjoyed becoming part of this great community that became their home. As Manager at "the George" for 27 years Jesse was well known to the local hockey community and was quick to share his love of the Montreal Canadiens, especially with Leaf’s fans. Jesse’s positive attitude and faith brought him through challenging times in recent years with life changes and health challenges. His positive attitude undoubtedly extended his life, and this memory of positivity will comfort those he leaves behind. He was genuine and caring to the end appreciating friendship, fellowship and family.
Jesse was predeceased by parents Lewis and Emma Oram, brothers Malcolm and Cluney and sister-in-law Marina. He leaves with fond and loving memories: Wife of 59 years Eva, Children Donna (Shawn), Brian, Diane (Stephen) and Cindy, Grandchildren Ian, Emily, Rebecca, Grant, Andrew and Jessica. His cherished siblings Bram (Julia), Tab (June), Randolph (Nina) as well as a circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
In light of the current Covid-19 pandemic, the health and safety of our families and our community continues to be our highest priority. A public visitation will take place from Isles Funeral Home, Twillingate on Friday, February 18, 2022 from 2-4pm. The funeral service will be held at the Salvation Army Citadel, Twillingate on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 2pm. Burial to follow at the Salvation Army Citadel Cemetery, Twillingate.
At this time, due to government regulations proof of vaccination will be required for both visitation and funeral.
