Obituary of Ruth Shirley Greenham

Ruth Shirley Greenham 1934 – 2022 Ruth passed peacefully away on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at the Notre Dame Bay Memorial Health Center, Twillingate, NL. Ruth was born on February 15, 1934, to Daisy and Aaron Roberts. On June 23, 1955, she married Ellison (Bud) Greenham. Together they raised three daughters, Dianne, Beverley, and Roseann and two sons Wayne and Brent. Ruth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, big nan, sister, aunt, and friend. Ruth loved going for a ride in the car and never forgot a phone number, she was known for making many phone calls to family and friends on a regular daily basis. She was a homemaker and enjoyed having people in for a cup of tea. Ruth made many apple and rhubarb pies and loved to share them with family and friends. Ruth was very firm with what could be done every day of the week, especially on Sundays and also had a great love for pets. She was a soldier of the Bayview Salvation Army Corps. since 1972 and enjoyed worshipping at the Corps. Ruth was predeceased by her husband Ellison (Bud); her parents Daisy and Aaron Roberts; brother Roy and great-grand daughter Haillie. Ruth leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children; Dianne (Harold), Wayne (Pat), Beverley (Derrick), Roseann (Glenn) and Brent (Lisa), grandchildren; Greg, Vicki, Jordan, Cristy, Scott, Jocelyn, Justin, Kristian, Shannon, Elsie, Wayne, Tanner, Brandon, Chelsea, and Colby; great-grandchildren; Casey, Aden, Allexie-Micah, Carter, Maxwell, Preston, Erik, Riley, Adriana, Ayden, Ellie, Bodey, Lincoln, Emme, Maddie, Lydia, Charlie, Elizabeth, Henry, Reece, Auston, Oliver, Everly and two special girls Meadow and Harmony; sister Phyllis and brother Herbert (Norma), and sister in law Donna Mead. A special thank you to Ruth’s Home Care Support Workers who took such great care of her and to the staff of Notre Dame Bay Memorial Health Centre, Long Term Care Unit for their care and compassion. Ruth will be truly missed by family, friends and all who knew her. Her memory will live on in our hearts forever. Donations may be given in Ruth’s memory to the Salvation Army Citadel, Bayview or the Alzheimer Society of Newfoundland.
