Obituary of Rose Marie Hopkins
Rose Marie Hopkins, age 93 years, passed peacefully away in the presence of her family at Notre Dame Bay Memorial Hospital, Twillingate, on Sunday, June 25, 2023.
Predeceased by her husband Harry, parents Thomas & Bessie (Cooper) Stuckless, siblings, Botsford (Alma)(Meta), Wilson (Elva), Warrick (May)(Millicent), Olive (Fred), Mark (Eliza)(Bessie), Clifford (Edith)(Phoebe) and son-in-law, John Murphy.
Left with fond and loving memories are her children, Allan(Eileen), Doris (Bob) Sheppard, Kevin (Cindy), Danny (Valerie), Kathy (Dale) Peddle, Brian (Helen); Grandchildren, John (Sherri) Hopkins, Gy (Joanne) Hopkins, Jane (Jordon) Bath, Dana (Jason) Blackwood, Andrew (Lorie) Sheppard, Hayley Hopkins (Ian Penton), Shane Hopkins, Mark Hopkins (Victoria Pope), Myah (Andrew) Janes, Sean Murphy, Heidi Murphy (Kenny Blagdon), Catherine (Jamie) Sansome, Jonathon (Danielle) Hopkins, brother Ross (Teddy) Stuckless; as well as step, great, and great, great grandchildren, and a large circle of extended family and friends.
As a mother, nan and great nan, Rose kept her family close and was always an active part of their lives. She loved being involved in the community as evidenced by her dedication to the Royal Canadian Legion, United Church Women, and the Loyal Orange Lodge. During her life in Kettle Cove, she was a grocery store owner (Rose’s Shop), advisor, care taker, and while raising six children could calmly handle any situation that arose in the community.
