Obituary of Evelyn Betty Jenkins

Evelyn Betty Jenkins, age 82 years, passed peacefully away at the Notre Dame Bay Memorial Health Centre, Twillingate, NL on October 30, 2023. She is predeceased by her parents Chesley and Blanche Elliott, her husband Jack, son Grant, grandson Ryan, brothers Hubert and Malcolm. Evelyn leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her son Roddie (Brenda), her daughter Wendyann (Eddie), and her granddaughter Jorja. As well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Evelyn grew up in Bluff Head Cove along with her two brothers Malcolm and Hubert. Her career started as a nurse working many years at the old Twillingate Hospital. Evelyn raised her three children with her husband Jack in lower Jenkins Cove. She ended her working days at Stuckless Grocery Store where many good times were had. Evelyn was involved in the church for most of her life and was often told the Salvation Army was her second home. She loved being involved with the young people and had many roles within the church over the years. She was called “Mom” by many young people and loved to listen and guide them when she could. She also spent many hours attending Home League. Many evenings were spent enjoying a cup of tea with her large group of friends. Evelyn’s greatest loves were her two grandchildren. Many hours were spent with them making memories. Her last few years were quieter at home, but her family was always the most important thing to her.
