Obituary of Bruce Gordon Hamlyn

Bruce Gordon Hamlyn passed away peacefully in his 73rd year on Friday November 10th, 2023 at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander. Bruce was born September 3rd, 1950 in the town of Twillingate to Alvin and Blanche Hamlyn. On March 25th, 1977 he married the love of his life Janesta and together they had one son Wade. Bruce adored his family and they brought tremendous sunshine to his world. Bruce spent the last four months residing at Oram’s Bethesda Manor, Gander, where he could get the proper care for his health. Bruce is predeceased by his parents Alvin and Blanche Hamlyn; parents-in-law Murdock and Rowena Jenkins; sister Joyce Gillard; brother Roy (Frances) Weir; sisters-in-law Jane Ball and Christine Jenkins. Bruce leaves with broken hearts is beloved wife Janesta of 47 years; son Wade (Kathy), Janesta’s son Jason (Vanessa) and their family; sister Doris (Reginald) Mercer, brothers-in-law Stewart Gillard, Terry (Dolly) Jenkins, Randy (Patty) Oechsle and Jonathan Oechsle; sisters-in-law Melinda (Willie) Andrews, Lorraine LeDrew and Doreen Jenkins; along with a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. At the age of 20 years old Bruce discovered his passion in health care, where he spent 25 years caring for others. In his free time you were sure to find him spending time in his shed doing crafts or just a moment of relaxing. Bruce will be greatly missed by his wife Janesta who he always referred to has “Love”, his son Wade along with his fur baby Rocky.
