With the heaviest of hearts, the family of the late Thomas William Cooper announce his peaceful passing on December 5, 2023.

Tom was born and raised in Twillingate to Walter and Lucy (Churchill) Cooper. He married his beautiful wife Marie in June 1962. Together they raised two children, Cindy, and Rodney.

Tom loved the outdoors. He enjoyed trouting and made a living fishing, but his greatest passion was hunting and sealing, especially with his son. He made a trip everyday he could to have a look off Longpoint. When not outside, Tom could often be found in his basement fiddling and fixing, or in his chair reading a good book or watching a western.

He is predeceased by his wife Marie, his parents Walter and Lucy Cooper, his parents in law George and Blanche Watkins, his brother-in-law, Howard and his dear nephew, Peter.

He leaves to mourn his children, Cindy (Gary), Rodney (Melanie), granddaughters Ann-Marie (Tim), Mallory, Macy (David), step grandson Matthew (Brittany), great granddaughters Lucy and Iris, sister Bernice, along with his nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

He will forever be in the hearts of those he loved and remembered with a smile and a laugh.

Donations in Thomas’ memory may be given to the Twillingate Public Library or to the Central United Church, Twillingate.
