Obituary of Eva May Oram
It is with great sadness that we announce that Eva May Oram (Harnett), passed peacefully on February 17, 2024, at Lakeside Home at 83 years old. Eva was born in Campbellton and always shared great childhood memories of her big family and many friends. Eva was a gifted learner and went on to become a teacher with stops in Peterview, Comfort Cove and Gambo. During her time in Gambo she met her life’s love Jesse Oram, she followed him to Goose Bay, back to Gambo-Gander then they found their forever home in Twillingate. Jesse and Eva raised their family in Twillingate and enjoyed becoming part of this great community that became their home. As an operator at CNT and a Switchboard Operator at the Hospital she knew everyone from everywhere. She had a personality that drew people in, and a kitchen that was always open for tea and something sweet, Eva’s preference was always for chocolate and peanut butter She built friendships that crossed generations and countries as she welcomed everyone, especially new people to Twillingate into her life. Her love for family was undeniable and that love took a gigantic leap starting in 1996 when she became a Grandmother, this was her best role. She was undeniably the best Grandmother that ever lived, and she and her grandchildren hold a special bond that will serve them well throughout their lifetimes. From Grandma they learned love, loyalty and blueberry picking.
Eva was predeceased by her husband of 59 years Jesse, by parents Lewis and Annie, siblings Guy, Dwight, Harry, Myrtle, Bob & Joe.
