Obituary of Nellie Irene Simms-Burry

It is with great sadness that the family of Nellie Irene Simms-Burry announce her peaceful passing with her family by her side on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at the Gander Long Term Care Home at the age of 101 years. Nellie is predeceased by parents Frank and Flora Sharpe; husbands Chesley Simms and Ronald Burry; granddaughter Suzanne Norton; siblings Edna (Bill) Luscombe, Stella (Roland) Bridger, Millicent (Donald) Price, Mamie (Ellis) Pollett, Selby (Mildred) Sharpe, Weldon (Alice) Sharpe, and Junior Sharpe. She leaves with precious memories: her daughter Patsy (Wilson) Blake; grandson Paul Blake, and grandson in law Glen Norton; great-grandchildren: Olivia Norton, Noah and Nicholas Blake and their mother Julia, as well as Ronald’s children Audrey and Edna (Irving) and their families, sisters in law Ruth Sharpe and Ida Winters and a large circle of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Our family would like to thank the Nightingale Manor, Oram’s Bethesda Manor and Lakeside Homes for their care over the last ten years, for the last two years of Nellie’s life she was a resident at the Gander Long Term Care Home, and we are especially thankful for the wonderful care she received while living there. Donations may be given in Nellie's memory to the Northside United Church Cemetery Fund.
