Obituary of Cory Roy George Saunders
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our forever loved and forever missed Cory Saunders.
Cory was born in Grandfalls-Winsor, Newfoundland to Roy and Linda Saunders on October 1, 1977, and came into this world at a whooping 9lbs 15 ounces, the most beautiful little boy that God created. At an early age Cory and family moved to Leaf Rapids, Manitoba where he attended school. After graduation he followed his dad in the mining business, working in different mines in Newfoundland, Saskatoon, and Manitoba. At the time of his death, he was employed at Vale in Voisey Bay, Labrador as an Underground Trainer, for which he was very proud of.
Cory loved hunting, fishing, nature and wildlife, his favorite being fox trapping in Northern Manitoba. Cory loved his family and would go above and beyond for anyone. He had a heart of gold and a kind spirit.
Cory leaves to mourn his parents Roy and Linda Saunders, his children Rowan and Brooke, his loving sisters Coreina Packulak, Carolyn Harnum and their spouses and families.
Cory is predeceased by his grandparents Norman and Bessie Pope, George and Effie Saunders, and his Uncle Cluney Saunders.
Donations in Cory’s memory can be made to the United Church Cemetery Fund, Cobbs Arm, Newfoundland.
