Obituary of Nina Isabelle Weir

It is with great sadness that the family of Nina Isabelle Weir announce her passing on December 22, 2024, at the Notre Dame Bay Memorial Health Centre in Twillingate, at the age of 96. Nina is predeceased by her parents Hubert and Dorothy King, her husband George Weir, son in laws Melvin Rideout and David Hutchings, sisters Dulcie (Leonard) Clarke, Helena (Maxwell) Bauld, brothers Bert (Margaret) King, Lester (Zoe) King, Aubrey King, step son Junior Dalley, sister-in-law Ada King, and special friend George Stockley. Left to mourn with precious memories are her daughters Bernice Rideout and Cathy Hutchings her brother Paul King, and sister-in-law Amy King, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A heartful thank you to the staff of Long-Term Care, Notre Dame Bay Memorial Health Center, Twillingate and to the staff of Pleasantview Manor, Lewisporte who took such loving care of Mom while she lived there. Thank you to Rev. Calvin Ginn and to Major Stanley Higdon for their visits to the hospital of the last few days, it brought great comfort to Mom and her family. Mom’s love of knitting over her lifetime was immense and she won several awards for her knitting skills from NONIA.
