It is with great sadness that the family of Mary “Loretta” Irene Gedge announce her passing on January 16, 2025, at the Notre Dame Bay Memorial Health Centre, Twillingate at the age of 75.

Loretta is predeceased by her parents Martin & Irene Downey, her brothers Clarence, Gerald, and Daniel, her sisters Elizabeth, Catherine, Helen, Frances, and her precious granddaughter Jessica.

Loretta leaves to mourn with precious memories her loving husband of 56 years Hubert and her children Paula, Dwayne (Patti), Martin (Florence), and Sheena (Albert). Loretta also leaves to mourn her grandchildren Thomas, Austin, Andrew, Ben, Krista, Adam, Sadie, Liam, Weston, Jordan, Leah, and Reid, her great grandchildren Hunter and Kensley. Her sister Marie and brothers Ron (Betty), Jim, and Aiden. As well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Special thanks to the Long Term Care staff at the Notre Dame Bay Memorial Health Centre, Twillingate for their care and compassion.

In keeping with Loretta’s wishes cremation has taken place, and a celebration of her life and the interment of ashes will take place in July of 2025 in her hometown of Baie Verte, NL.

Donations in Loretta’s memory may be given to the Alzheimer's Society NL.
