It is with great sadness that I write this message, to my parents, all my aunts and uncles, cousins and extended family members; so sorry that we can't be there during this difficult time. Nan Gates was a special lady that genuinely loved everyone and cared deeply about all those she encountered. I will certainly miss her sense of humour, smile, kindness, love of gardening, those socks and mitts, quilt making, and your amazing cooking and desserts. I sure will miss our chats and the visits. You always took the time for people and that is a genuine gift. I am horoured to call you my nan. Thanks so much for always being there for us and you will be greatly missed.
