We are saddened by Nelson's passing and send our love and sympathy to all his family. Nelson was a kind and gentle man, respected and admired by all who knew him. He worked hard and cared deeply for his family and his community. His stories of the early days that he could relate in great detail will always be remembered. One in particular that I remember is him telling of how he used to walk up from Lower Little Harbour 3 o'clock in the morning to go fishing with my uncles and how Grandpa John would have breakfast ready for him when he got there. We have many special memories, and my children and grandchildren will treasure the things made by his own hands that he gave each one when we visited. I have my own sleigh that will always be special to me! A trip to Little Harbour was never complete without going to see Nelson and I can't imagine what it is going to be like without him, he was like family to us.
