To Irene and the rest of the Hynes family:
I was saddened to hear of Geraldine's passing. I first met Geraldine & Ron in 1993, when my family & I moved to Summerford. Irene, along with Allister, began caring for my sister & I when needed. Irene would take us for visits at Geraldine's house where I'm sure we tasted the results of her delicious cooking & baking many times. We enjoyed our visits and were made to feel like "adopted" grandchildren.
The day after my husband & I were married, we went to Sunmerford for a few days. It was a Sunday, so of course we wanted to go to church. We decided to go to Bayview for the service. I remember Geraldine coming and giving both of us a hug. Before the service was over, she was asked to pray and during her prayer, she prayed over our marriage. I will never forget that and I have mentioned it often in the last almost 4 years.
Geraldine, you are now reunited with silly Ron, and I'm sure he was glad to see you too. But I know without a shadow of a doubt that however happy you were to see Ron, you were even happier to see your Saviour, whom you loved & served.
To the family: cherish your many memories that you have made over the years. They will help you to get through the coming days. Rely on God's strength, peace & love. He is there for you always.
Geraldine Hynes, you have fought the fight, won the race & kept the faith. Well done thou good & faithful servant. Now rest in the arms of Jesus and Enjoy your heavenly reward.
Thoughts & prayers

To Thelma, Kevin, Irene, Paul, Kim, Darlene, Lindy, and last but not least Barry:
We are so sorry to hear about the passing of your mom and Nan. Cherish all the memories you have and hold them close. I am so happy I knew such a beautiful lady who always had that beautiful smile and open arms to give me a hug whenever she met me. Geraldine is now free from pain and sickness and enjoying the beauties of Heaven and more importantly she has met Jesus by now I’m sure. Tears are a language that God understands. We are thinking about you all and rest of the family and we are here for you all at this difficult time and days ahead.

I never had the honor to meet Geraldine, but I feel like I know her through what my daughter Elizabeth told me. Despite her illness, she took Elizabeth under her wing and it made me feel good because I couldn't be there as I was hospitalized. Thank you Geraldine for being there for my precious Elizabeth when I could not be and that she was never alone. God bless you and your family.

I'm heartbroken to hear about Geraldine's passing. I had the privilege of meeting her and her daughter Irene as I was going through treatment at the cancer center in Gander. It didn't take long to see that she was a beautiful person. She called me her cancer queen and always wanted to know how I was. A very kind, caring, compassionate person who put everyone before herself. My only regret is that I didn't know you longer. You will always hold a special place in my heart. Rest in Paradise beautiful lady. I will always love you. Elizabeth Butt

To: Geraldine’s children and Families, Roland, Margaret & Louise & Families and The Hynes family.
We are so sorry to hear the news about your Mom. We realize how painful it is for all of you to part with someone so special. But we also rejoice in the fact that she is gone home and she has been Promoted to Glory. What an inheritance Is awaiting all those who loved and served the Lord Jesus.
Our memories of Geraldine are sweet. We thank the Lord for the many times we had the privilege to be in their home (and it was always too hot especially if Ron was there). But we were blessed every time we entered there. Their hospitality and their love was very visible, and most times we came away with some little goodie,
Geraldine was a faithful member and a supporter of the Bayview Corps. Also a helper when needed. We can see Geraldine now in the tearing down of the old church and preparing for the new, pulling these nails out of the old wood and sorting the good pieces from the bad to salvage for the new building.
Many hours of sweet fellowship and many laughs , many times of worshiping and praying together. How we thank God for such sweet memories. Geraldine your work on earth is done, now go and reap your reward.
We wish we could be there today to share in celebrating such a beautiful life but we have other commitments out of town. You are very much in our thoughts and prayers. We encourage you all today, to keep holding on to Jesus, keep holding to His precious mail-scarred hand. Walking with the Saviour your Mom/Sister walked with daily. God bless you all.
Much love & prayers
