Hey Craig, Sandra and Luke, so sorry I can't be there. The only thing keeping me away is being out of the country. You know how special Uncle Max was to me. I loved him sooo much. Kathryn always referred to him as " gentle giant". So glad I got to spend time with him during his time in the hospital. I was so looking forward to him having his stories published. He was so articulate right to the end. He was the absolute best! I can't believe he is gone. I am truly heartbroken and not being there to pay my respect is heartbreaking. Love Jo

I can tell you how sad, hearing that Max had passed, made me. He was a huge part of my childhood. So many happy memories of Max and going to down shop. This man had the patience of a saint with all us kids running in and out or handing out ,siting on the rail of the bridge. He never raise his voice or told us to go home. I am sure he should have.
I will always remember him with a smile . My deepest condolences to all who loved this dear man.

I was very surprised when I went to visit Max today to fine out that he had died. I enjoyed the visits with Max, talking about old times and respected his storage wealth of information of passed life in Twillingate. To Gus, Craig and all of the relatives, I sent sympathy and may your memories of Max bring you happiness at this difficult time. Take care. I will never forget him, Elmo Gillard.

Craig & Family, my condolences for your loss. Max was such a sweet, gentle giant. I think I speak for all the kids from our cove, when I say that Max & Inez were such a huge part of our childhood. Going to Max’s shop everyday to get our after school snacks, and hanging out on the bridge, a simple but fond memory because your parents were such kind people. I attached a photo from the last time I saw your parents, at Michelle & Lee’s wedding. May he rest in peace.
