Obituary of Maxwell Thomas Stuckless

It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Maxwell Thomas Stuckless of Twillingate, announces his passing at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Center, on Wednesday, May 15, at age 90. Max leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his son Craig, daughter in law Sandra and grandson Luke, brother Gus (Ruth), sister-in-law Daphne, special niece Marie (Milton) Hale. He was predeceased by his wife Inez, parents Samuel and Dinah Stuckless; 5 brothers Samuel Jr, Edward, Elliott, Albert (Bert), and Harry, and 3 sisters Gertie White, Minnie Roberts, and Maggie Pelley as well as many other relatives and friends. Maxwell (Max) Stuckless was born on January 10, 1934, to Samuel and Dinah (Ricketts) Stuckless of Durrell's Arm, Twillingate. On July 15, 1959, he married the love of his life, Inez Blake, and together raised one child, Craig, whom they loved and adored. In 1951, he went to work for Ashbournes LTD, Twillingate, where he remained until 1964, at which time he retired to go manage his brother Bert’s general store at Upper Jenkins Cove which became fondly known as Max’s store to the local residents. He retired in 1999. Max had served as president of the Durrell Museum, member of the board of directors Notre Dame Memorial Health Center and on the Twillingate United Church committees.
